Depression  A popular definition of depression is, quite simply, 'anger turned inward'. The result of this is usually some felt sense of an internal heaviness and hopelessness, along with a belief in some variation on the themes of 'I'm not enough', 'I'm too much', or 'I'm inherently bad'. When we relate to ourselves and to life at large through this lens, the experience of living becomes deadened, painful, and foggy. Depression really hurts. Fortunately, it is not who you are! A helpful way to reframe depression can be to label it what it more often than not truly is; an aspect or symptom of identity crisis.

There are some very helpful ways in which we can, together, help you overcome it and live a fuller, sweeter, more satisfying life. Mainly, this can be accomplished through cognitive therapy (uncovering, meeting, and challenging negative thoughts or core beliefs), somatic therapy (meeting the blocked energy directly as it manifests in the body so it can be loosened up and move again), and through the therapeutic relationship itself.
